About to perform a router firmware upgrade, all services will be down momentarily.

There is scheduled maintenance for my VPS provider on ‘08/08/2020 04:00 UTC’ and therefore the instance and all Werefox services will be down for about an hour or two. If you would like to see the details on this maintenance, please see the full notification attached in this post.

Riot has been updated to 1.7.0 and is now accessible at https://elem.werefox.dev! You can still use the client at https://riot.werefox.dev as well for now, but eventually all access will be redirected to the new subdomain.

Gitea has been updated to version 1.12.2.

All services will be shutting down later today to perform a system reset. I will be making backups and testing recovery. This is to ensure that the system in place for back ups and recovery from emergencies is sufficient.

Everything seems to be back up and running. Storm is still somewhat close, but seems to have mostly passed.

Thunderstorm nearby and tornado warning for my area. In case the instance goes down, that's why. I don't expect it to happen, but it's possible.

It looks like there is a thunderstorm and weather advisory in effect in my area. If the instance goes down overnight, that's likely why.

I am aware of the recent connection issues with this instance. It appears Linode had a temporary outage with the Dallas area and has supposedly been resolved according to my contact with customer support. If anyone else notices connection issues please let me know.

Going to attempt upgrade to Ubuntu Server 20.04. Instance will likely go down for a while.

I have internet again! The instance is back up and running

After some fumbling about, this instance is back up and running. I still want to switch to another provider or server location, but it will have to wait until at least this weekend when I have more time to troubleshoot things eventually going awry.
